Women’s Empowerment in RecoveryMondays 3:15-4:15 PM

This group is focused on not only engaging with other women in a safe environment but also discussing what it is like to be a woman in recovery. Participants will discuss why they joined this group, the struggles they face as women, parenting, and empowering other women.

The goal of the New Role Group is social reintegration for individuals returning to the community from incarceration to decrease their chances of re-offending through the obtainment of their education, vocational training, employment, housing, banking, driver’s license, photo identification, health care, substance use disorder treatment, mental health treatment, and to seek support systems to help this population reintegrate and live a life free of crime.

The Anger Management Group is a weekly program where participants will gain self-awareness about things in their lives that influence them to make decisions that are less healthy and helpful and support to help move forward in a constructive positive direction. The goal of the Anger Management Group is to explore challenges of anger expression through gaining self-awareness of the emotional needs of individuals having difficulty managing anger to decrease their chances of repeating the cycle related to anger and unhealthy behavior choices.
Grief and loss take a variety of forms such as isolation, depression, self-injurious behaviors, and loss of help. This program aims to educate individuals on the process of grief, as well as the emotional and somatic responses that it invokes.

If you suffer from anxiety and addiction and  want to learn positive ways to manage your triggers and anxiety, then come join us on Wednesday evenings at Riverbend.

This 8 week session features a new curriculum that includes:

  1. building community
  2. resilience strategies
  3. recovery capital
  4. exploring LGBTQ+ identity in the recovery context
The trauma and addiction group is designed to help individuals understand the impact of trauma, practice healing tools, and process the emotions that accompany traumatic events to resolve grief and anguish.

This group supports men struggling with substance use disorders. The group will take members through a curriculum that will provide psychoeducation around various topics and use modalities of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI) and narrative therapy (NT). Participants do not need to feel shy or ashamed of their experiences as it will be gender specific to men only.
