Riverbend announced today that it received a $5,000 grant from Catholic Health Foundation of Greater Boston to support Riverbend’s newest initiative, a social enterprise catering business.
The award for Riverbend initiative will help fund the launch of Riverbend’s social enterprise. This endeavor will located in Haverhill and provide jobs and job training for individuals who are going through treatment and are in early recovery.
CHF Executive Director Lynne Sullivan stated, “I continue to be deeply impressed with the resourcefulness of these organizations. They are consistently finding new ways to leverage their funds and stretch resources so that they can ensure greater impact and longevity.”
“As Catholics, we are called to serve. And these organizations are doing just that,” said Board President Gavan Mooney. “They are bridging gaps and developing solutions for the serious challenges facing our communities. Their commitment and dedication are second to none and CHF is proud to support their work.”
“The biggest concerns for clients who are going through treatment for their substance use disorder are housing, transportation, and of course jobs,” said Michael Reinke, CEO of Riverbend. “As an organization focused on providing support across the full continuum of care, we are excited to be able to step into this space and be able to provide job training and jobs for individuals who are looking to start the next stage of their life.”
