Riverbend Awarded Contract with the Department of Children and Families for Support & Stabilization Services

May 14, 2025

Riverbend is now contracted with the Department of Children and Families (DCF) for Support & Stabilization services. This program will be tailored to match the individual strengths and needs of children and families served by the Department and designed to achieve safety, permanency, and well-being for children. This program will be a part of Riverbend’s Community Outreach department including clinical services and case management, and part of Riverbend’s Recovery Support Services department through Recovery Coaching for parents/caregivers. The program will serve the families in their own homes or the community, removing the barriers of transportation to treatment and allowing us to meet them where they are at.

“We are thrilled to start this program with DCF and provide much-needed care to families across the region,” said David Fillio, Chief Clinical Officer at Riverbend. “Providing in-home care is something we have strived to do for years, and are finally at a point clinically where we can provide that treatment to families and individuals.”

This program will utilize intentional strategies for engaging with caregivers involved with DCF in any capacity that has involved substance use to support permanency with their children and families. The key characteristics of this program include: Cultural Humility and Linguistic Competency; Trauma-Informed Service Delivery; Flexibility Regarding Type of Cases Served; Collaboration When Multiple Providers Involved; Continuous Quality Improvement and Evaluation.
